BarleyLife 101

In 1982, The AIM Companies pioneered the use of plants, such as barley, carrots, and beets, to deliver to the body concentrated nutrition.

They developed a way to juice these plants and then air dry them, so that the maximum amounts of nutrients are preserved. It's then made available in the form of veggie capsules or powder that you can mix in juice, for easy consumption.

A good example of concentrated nutrition is BarleyLife. It takes fifteen pounds of barley grass to make thirteen pounds of juice, which then makes a single pound of powder.

And because it's a food, there are no negative side effects. Your body knows exactly what to do with the nutrients.

BarleyLife was developed through a process that took place over a period of years.

Dr. Yoshihidi Hagiwara, M.D. was a research pharmacologist. He had developed mercury poisoning, due to experiments in his own pharmaceutical laboratory.

He came to the conclusion many of the synthetic pharmaceuticals he had developed were creating more health problems than they were solving.

So Dr. Hagiwara set out to regain his own health, having lost it at the young age of thirty-eight.

He started by studying Chinese herbs. This led him to study the nutritional value of green plants.

Then over the course of twenty-five years, he and a team of scientists studied over four hundred green plants.

At the conclusion of this study, he found green barley grass to be the richest source of nutrition on planet earth.

Dr. Hagiwara then invested an additional three years developing a process for turning the barley grass into a juice and air drying it into a powder.

This process preserves all of the nutrients, keeps them alive and active, allowing them to be easily absorbed by the body.

Since proper nutrition greatly reduces your risk for disease, I'd like to share with you why BarleyLife is a food with power, the highest octane fuel for your cells on the face of the earth.

There are seven key things that make the juice of young barley plants so amazing: assimilation, alkalinity, vitamins, minerals, protein and amino acids, chlorophyll, enzymes and antioxidants.

#1 - Assimilation

Assimilation of food means the absorption of nutrients into living tissue.

The expression "you are what you eat" is not totally accurate. Much of the food we eat is never converted into living tissue. It's wasted and doesn't energize us. It's more accurate to say, we are what we eat and absorb.

Everything good about BarleyLife begins here.

It's absorbed more easily than anything you eat and is one of the key reasons why your body responds so well to it.

BarleyLife is a juice that effortlessly rushes into your bloodstream. Most foods require significant internal processing, with chewing, saliva, stomach acids and enzymes to reach a point where your body can use it.

Take raw carrots as an example. When you chew raw carrots, less than 5 percent of the nutrients are absorbed into your blood stream. The rest is locked in the cellulose fibers and eliminated.

Cooking the food helps unlock the nutrients from the cellulose, but heat destroys all of the enzymes and may change the chemical nature of the nutrients.

Juicing delivers more than 95 percent of food nutrients to your stomach in a form that requires little energy to process. That's why so many nutritionists promote drinking raw juices.

And that's why BarleyLife, as a raw food juice, is so good for you.

#2 - Alkalinity

The alkaline and acid balance is extremely important to your health. Your body needs to maintain a constant pH 7.4 in the blood.

Dr. William Lee Cowden, M.D. board certified in internal medicine, cardiovascular disease and clinical nutrition, says,

"Virtually all degenerative diseases, including cancer, heart disease, osteoporosis, arthritis, kidney and gall stones, and tooth decay are associated with excess acidity in the body." Exercise, stress, and the air you breathe all affect the pH level of your body. But nothing has more impact than what you eat. Today's typical western diet tends to turn your system acid. Sugary, carbonated soft drinks have a low pH. Meats, processed foods, and coffee all produce an acid ash in your body."

BarleyLife is one of the most alkaline foods you can consume. It is seven times more alkaline than an equivalent weight of spinach and fifteen times that of broccoli.

As a result, BarleyLife will help normalize the pH level of your body.

#3 - Vitamins

Vitamins are essential for life. They contribute to good health, by regulating metabolism and assisting the biochemical processes that release energy from digested foods.

They act as catalysts, combining with proteins to create metabolically active enzymes, which produce hundreds of important chemical reactions throughout your body.

Without vitamins, many of these reactions slow down or stop completely.

Almost every single vitamin that is reported as value to human nutrition is found in BarleyLife.

One of those vitamins is Vitamin A or beta-carotene. According to an article in USA Today, researchers from John Hopkins Medical University have found evidence that beta-carotene helps prevent cancer.

These researchers found those people who regularly eat fresh, uncooked, green leafy vegetables have a significantly lower incidence of cancer. This is because deep green leafy vegetables are high in beta-carotene.

BarleyLife is extremely high in beta-carotene, containing 2.5 times more than an equivalent weight of raw carrots and twenty-five times that found in an equivalent weight of raw broccoli.

#4 - Minerals

BarleyLife is the ultimate source for colloidal minerals. It contains over seventy known minerals and trace minerals. All of the minerals are substances from plants, the way minerals were designed to be absorbed by the body.

Equally important, all are perfectly balanced by nature in the proper amounts.

Science increasingly understands the important roles that minerals play in the function of the body, such as the production of energy and the control of body systems. When any of the minerals are lacking, the result will be structural weakness and system dysfunction - in other words, disease.

For instance, copper is essential for healthy blood vessels. Deficient levels can lead to many problems, including strokes.

Potassium is another vital mineral for good health. It impacts the health of your heart, as well as the regulation of your heartbeat.

Potassium also influences the flexibility and elasticity of your muscles. It is important for your brain and affects your memory.

Many people who have problems with salt actually have a potassium deficiency. If they get enough potassium, the sodium in their system will be balanced and the salt problem usually goes away. This is particularly true if they stop using sodium chloride, which is table salt.

BarleyLife is loaded with potassium.

Severe vitamin or mineral deficiencies will result in serious illnesses. Even a modest deficiency can have a negative effect on your health.

The solution?

Daily servings of BarleyLife.

#5 - Protein and Amino Acids

There are eighteen different amino acids in BarleyLife, including the eight that are essential to your diet.

Amino acids are the building blocks of cells. They are necessary for growth and metabolism in your body.

Barley grass also has some of the highest protein content of any plant. Think about it. Some of the most massive and hard working animals build all of their muscle mass from eating grass.

That's why many athletes use BarleyLife for stamina and strength.

Dr. Richard Hughes, a former Olympic doctor and trainer, was involved in food supplementation for athletes since 1930. He is considered by many to be the Father of Sports Medicine - and he used BarleyLife in all of his training programs.

#6 - Chlorophyll

The sixth ingredient in BarleyLife is chlorophyll. Most people know this is the substance that makes plants green. It converts the energy from the sun into food, through a process called photosynthesis.

Life as we know it could not exist without chlorophyll. It's the "blood" of the plants.

The chemical structure of chlorophyll closely matches the hemoglobin in human blood.

This means by consuming BarleyLife, your blood will carry much more oxygen. Increased oxygen is beneficial for anemic conditions, respiratory conditions, and mental clarity, among other things.

This oxygen increase also has advantages for athletes. Here's how one Olympic athlete uses BarleyLife as a competitive advantage.

Debbi Lawrence has participated in the last three Olympics and explains her hemoglobin/BarleyLife connection. She says the hemoglobin of a woman ranges on a scale of 12.0 to 16.0. Her normal level tested at 13.6-13.7.

When she does elevation training, her body is subjected to much lower levels of oxygen. The body then adjusts by producing more hemoglobin, in an attempt to capture more oxygen.

After a month of elevation training, Debbi was able to raise her hemoglobin levels as high as 14.6 to 14.7. After discovering BarleyLife and using it for three weeks, her blood was tested at 15.9! It was an astounding difference.

For years, scientists have noticed chlorophyll will do many wonderful things for you. However, the most measurable is an increase in hemoglobin.

What a competitive advantage for athletes.

#7 - Enzymes and Antioxidants

I. Enzymes

There are over a thousand different enzymes in BarleyLife.

Technically, enzymes are not considered as part of nutrition. A good analogy is building a house. Even with all of the right materials, if you don't have a carpenter, you'll never get the house built.

Enzymes are like the carpenter that builds the house. They help vitamins do their job. Unless they're piggybacked on a live enzyme, vitamins cannot pass through the cell wall of cells. (In other words, you will not be able to absorb nutrition from food.)

You're born with a large bank account of enzymes. However, studies show as you grow older, you use up these enzymes and eventually begin to bankrupt your enzyme account.

When you're out of enzymes, you die.

Eating a diet of cooked and processed foods depletes the enzyme account of your body.

One particular enzyme that's been studied is super oxide dismutase, also known as SOD. Scientists have directly linked the aging process to decreasing amounts of the SOD enzyme in the body.

They've also found that by increasing the amount of SOD, your body will repair itself more quickly. SOD also acts as an anti-inflammatory enzyme, as well as a cancer preventive enzyme.

BarleyLife is rich in super oxide dismutase, one of the best sources available.

Another enzyme contained in BarleyLife is P4D1. This enzyme is the first known substance to actually stimulate the repair of DNA molecules, which makes up your genetic structure.

In one case, an individual who had Multiple Sclerosis (MS) had been taking BarleyLife for two years, with no visible results. But then overnight, her MS disappeared.

Several medical professionals were asked why it happened this way. They concluded the diseased cells had to run their normal cycle. When it came time to reproduce, the P4D1 had repaired the DNA in the damaged cells. This caused the diseased cells to produce healthy cells.

In laboratory tests, the P4D1 enzyme has also been shown to eat the protein sheath off of cancer cells. This allows white blood cells to attack the cancer cells. Whether a person develops clinical cancer or not depends upon the ability of the immune system to destroy cancer cells.

Proper nutrition goes a long way towards developing and maintaining a strong and healthy immune system, to fight sickness and disease.

II. Antioxidants

BarleyLife is also full of antioxidants. These remarkable substances act as fire extinguishers. They put out the free radicals that burn good cells.

Free radicals damage cells by rupturing their cell wall or damaging the inside of a cell. Metabolism, inflammation, and oxidation are several ways free radicals are produced.

The destructive free radicals are usually oxygen molecules. They have an extra charge on their outer ring, due to an unpaired electron.

An oxygen molecule like this is very unstable and acts like a buzz saw. It can penetrate a cell, damage the DNA and produce a mutated cell.

Organ or tissue damage occurs when there are too many free radicals and not enough antioxidants to neutralize them.

BarleyLife is full of antioxidants that make free radicals harmless.

Oxygen Radical Absorbance Capacity (ORAC) is a standardized test used by the U.S. Department of Agriculture to measure the antioxidant power of foods and nutritional supplements.

Compared to other foods, BarleyLife® provides significantly more antioxidants. A single tablespoon of BarleyLife® has more antioxidants than a large bowl of spinach.

You need 3,000 to 5,000 ORAC units per day for good health. To get the recommended daily amount, you would need at least nine servings of fruits and vegetables every day.

Yet studies show most people eat only three servings of fruits and vegetables per day. That's an average of only 400 ORAC units per meal or 1,200 ORAC units a day.

Three tablespoons of BarleyLife® provides 3,825 ORAC units and five tablespoons provides 6,375 ORAC units, well over the recommended amount for maximum health.
