Cancer cannot form or thrive in an alkaline environment.

You may remember something about the alkaline and acid balance from high school chemistry. The number that expresses this balance is known as pH (potential of hydrogen). The pH scale ranges from 0-14, with 0 being the most acidic, 7 being neutral, and 14 being the most alkaline.
Acidity and Disease
Dr. William Lee Cowden, M.D. board certified in internal medicine, cardiovascular disease and clinical nutrition, says:
"Virtually all degenerative diseases, including cancer, heart disease, osteoporosis, arthritis, kidney and gall stones, and tooth decay are associated with excess acidity in the body.
While the body does have a homeostatic mechanism which maintains a constant pH 7.4 in the blood, this mechanism works by depositing and withdrawing acid and alkaline minerals from other locations, including the bones, soft tissues, body fluids and saliva. Therefore, the pH of these other tissues can fluctuate greatly.

Exercise, stress, and the quality of air we breathe all affect our pH. But nothing seems to have more impact than what we eat. Today's typical western diet tends to turn your system acid. Many sugary, carbonated soft drinks are as low as 2.3 pH. Meats, processed foods, and coffee all produce an acid ash.
Acid is stored in soft tissues when more is produced than the body can eliminate through the kidneys, skin and lungs. Removing it requires acid re-entry into the bloodstream. This is a serious threat to the blood's delicate pH balance. Our bodies will even resist metabolizing fat, if the return of acids into the blood poses a risk to the body's pH level.
Acidity then builds up in soft tissue, until the body receives an effective alkaline food. This enables the body to neutralize the acid, safely transport the neutralized salt back into the blood, and eliminate it through the kidneys.
Understand the more acidic we become, the fewer nutrients we assimilate. The acid/alkaline balance and your pH levels is a critical area for your attention. It's where you can monitor improving your health.
