Woman Battles Brain Cancer With Ketogenic Diet

Alix Hayden is the director of operations at a biochemistry research firm, Phenomenome Discoveries in Saskatoon, Canada. In August 2012, she was diagnosed with brain cancer.
Alix Hayden has brain cancer, but instead of undergoing surgery and grueling chemotherapy, she's fighting it with the low-carb, high-fat ketogenic diet and has been doing great so far.
Cancer cells can only run on sugar (glucose). Other cells can run on glucose or ketone bodies. Without glucose, the cancer cells starve and die.
